Foundation, Foundation and intrigued

Singapore was interesting in that I came upon this Stone. It was so intriguing on how someone put it like this. This is something I would do. It doesn't look smart, but may catch the eye. I mean you should see "everything" around Singapore. It has it's huge remarkable buildings. But this was was a small "prop". Not sure if I'm explaining it the right way. But couldn't believe the words on it. It states Foundation!

A tribute's to the early founders of Singapore! Much like running, a foundation is needed as a building block to show commitment towards a healthy lifestyle. It's pretty much like anything else!

Africa, San Francisco and XC

Able to meet one of the runners from Africa. Not to good on the memory of names, but talked about trying to qualify for the 2012 olympics. If it does come true, watch for these names from Bolt&Tool AFrica-Johannesburg. I ran like a 20:00, they were like:
Sibusiso Nzima 15:55
Enoch Manyandi (pictured with me) 16:24
Vincent Kutoane 16:27
Lucky Miya 16:51

So just to get a feel for their effort, they about 4 minutes ahead of me in a very humid
85 degree F or 30 degree C equatored Singapore!
After the race, we continued the festivities with other teams. San Francisco was part of the group. We also met a team from Tonawanda City Schools - Buffalo. It was interesting they picked the same colors as ours. Iy was cool how they spoke also of the XC running. The 5K this year is actually being positioned in Rochester, NY!

Race, Team and Tour

Before the race, gathered for group pictures with all winners from around the world.
38 Qualifying teams from six countries on five continents! Met one of the runners from Johannesburg after the race. Their team placed first in the championship! Then it was on to the tour more of Singapore!

What a great dream trip and still pinching myself!

Singapore Hotels and Artifacts

Above are the two Hotels we stayed at. I was amazed how the everything was so well maintained. The Buildings had both it's tradition and sequence of artifacts.

Ceremony, Singapore and Guarantee

This is a clip of the ceremony just before we raced the 3.5 Miler in Singapore. I sometimes carry a small hand held video Ipod and try to capture memories of the event. It gets kind of uncomfortable running with it and fear dropping it, which I have in past races. But there's just no guarantee on how long I'll be able to race.

Pacita Abad, Mom and Singapore

This is near where a bridge was produced by a well known artist, Pacita Abad. It was very close to where we stayed at Singapore! It reminded me of Mom and her art hobby history!

Mom, Gifts and Note

A note from Mom after I presented the Singapore gifts for her on Mother's day!

"Everything is perfect, the yellow top fits to a TEE...love it! The red runner looks beautiful on the piano, color is perfect, and the garden theme screen I think i will put in the powder room....I want anne and tc to see everything so will wait before and you can give them their gift, how perfect too, for them.....when is a good time to show your pictures, maybe at Kates when julia comes home over Memorial week end, that nite Friday she is entertaining us, so maybe then...."
